MIOC

The MIOC is a fiber optic gyroscope.It has three functions: polarization and detection, beam splitting and combination, and electro-optic phase modulation compensation. It is the key to realize the excellent characteristics of closed-loop fiber optic gyroscope, such as high sensitivity, wide dynamic range, and high output linearity. The product is manufactured by adopting a micro-processing technology, a micro-optical manufacturing and a coupling packaging technology, and has the characteristics of low insertion loss, high polarization extinction ratio, low half-wave voltage, high reliability and the like; The device integrates various characteristics and becomes an important device for signal detection in optical fiber sensing. The device has been widely used in closed-loop optical fiber gyroscopes with various precisions abroad.

How it works

A low-loss single polarization Y branch pattern is made on a polishing surface of a lithium niobate crystal by adopting selective proton exchange to finish the functions of light beam splitting/beam combination and polarization/polarization analysis; electrodes are made on two branch arms; The optical fiber end face and the LiNb03 chip end face adopt the oblique coupling technology to reduce the light backward reflection of the end face and reduce the residual intensity modulation; and the polarization-preserving tail fiber is precisely aligned to reduce the polarization crosstalk of the tail fiber.
